December 11th at 2:29 PST the Moon is new at 19 degrees Sagittarius. The Sabian Symbol is: “In An Old-Fashioned Northern Village Men Cut The Ice Of A Frozen Pond For Use During The Summer.” Sagittarius is a forward looking energy, this symbol speaks of bringing resources of the past into the future. I interpret this as indicating spiritual resources as well as practical, due to the northern direction being referenced and the metaphysical properties of water.
Judging by the almost exclusively Scorpio, Virgo and Sagittarius peeps that showed up to talk to me yesterday, I’d say their tribes are feeling particularly edgy. I want to take a moment to address their respective concerns.
Scorpio: It ain’t easy, nor is it supposed to be. That’s not your jam. You’re still absorbing the mad Saturn transit of the last few years. I know, I know! Listen, Venus just moved into Scorpio on Dec 4th and Mars will be in Scorpio beginning in January and it’s way more than a booty call. We don’t always get to control the transformation. Once the fire starts, it isn’t over till it’s over so just burn baby burn.
Virgo: We’ve talked about this. To mine the Jupiter goodies, you’re going to have to push out of your comfort zone. Right now is the best time to do that. As much as you’ve got a wind in your sails, you are still navigating old triggers as Jupiter converses with Chiron as well as Saturn squaring Neptune. So, there is some work in achieving those dreams and you have to make room for new ideas. None of which is ever easy but so worth it! Remember too that Jupiter can amp up the lower Virgo tendencies to be discontent and frozen in fear. Right now I am picturing you as the World’s Greatest Ice Breaking ship, engine powered with pure Sagittarius fire.
Sagittarius: You don’t need me to tell you how explosive differences between foreign cultures and religions has become as Saturn comes to bear now at 8 degrees Sagittarius, the degree of which is illustrated by “The harsh landscape of the moon with a black sky. The earth is not visible,” (from Inside Degrees Ellias Lonsdale). However, on an individual note, the agitated Sags I met yesterday were all torn up about making their dreams of living in foreign lands a reality, another aspect of Saturn in Sagittarius. And what does one say to an Archer, other than “Go!”
The New Moon in Sagittarius in the wee hours of Friday morning asks us to begin anew with hope which is inspired by the best wisdom of the sages, and the optimism of all new beginnings. What can you learn, what can you teach? Truth and independence are some of this sign’s best qualities, and we all need a chance to start over. Here’s yours.
